Maria is a self taught artist. She’s had pencils in her hands since she was a child, always doodling and drawing for fun. She didn’t get serious about it until she was in her early 20s and even now is still learning new things on every project. There are many artists in her family going back several generations so the artistic streak is no surprise.

Maria specializes in pencils, mostly charcoal and graphite but also does a little with colored pencils. Her signature is a “color pop” somewhere in each piece, sometimes subtle and other times it’s a bold statement. She enjoys portraiture most and is constantly improving her technique to achieve as realistic a drawing as possible.

She is married and together she and her husband have one daughter. They live in Alabama.
